MEET OUR STAFF
Jim Matson grew up spending much of his summers at Lake Geneva and on the Three Lakes Chain, in northern Wisconsin, where he learned to love boating at an early age; that love continued into adulthood. After he and his family started vacationing in Door County, Jim purchased a boat from Cal Lundquist. Out of that purchase came a friendship and introduced Jim into the marine industry. In 2010, he became a partner of Cal Marine. In 2013, as Cal and Sue Lundquist transitioned into retirement, Jim purchased the remaining shares of the company. Jim is excited to continue and expand the vision that began as Cal Marine and is now Beacon Marine.
Connie Carlson began her marine sales career in 1987 by working at boat shows with Cal Marine. In 1996, with the company continuing to grow through increased sales, Connie joined the company on a full-time basis. Since then, Connie has earned numerous sales awards because of her boating expertise combined with her focus on customer service and customer needs. In fact, Connie will tell you that her favorite part of the job is getting to know customers and helping them to get the most out of their boating experience.
Peter Kordon, a Door County native, plays a dual role as Beacon's Service Coordinator as well as in Sales. His 20+ years of marine industry experience includes an 8 year run at Cal Marine in the early 2000's where his primary focus was sales and also assisting in the delivery and maintenance of boats. Whether you own an outboard, stern drive or inboard, you'll find that Peter's experience can guide you toward the right solution.
Chris Froelich joined the Twin Cities Marine Team on a part time basis in 1982 and has spent the majority of her career with the company. Her passion and focus is on creating a seamless and enjoyable experience for customers in both the sales and service departments. Along with her sister, Sue Lodel, Chris is excited to continue on with Twin Cities and Beacon Marine, bringing decades of experience to the table.
Sue Lodel knows Boston Whaler parts and Grady-White parts better than anyone in the country! Since 1978, her total focus has been on the parts side of the business, specifically for older Whalers and Gradys. And because of that, she is recognized in both Whaler & Grady Owner Forums, and by Boston Whaler, as the best source for parts in the country. Sue and her sister Chris are daughters of retired Twin Cities owners Al & Mary Ellen Howarth.
Mark Matson joined Beacon Marine in late 2013 with a focus on sales and customer service, having spent 6 years in the service industry as well as not-for-profits. Like his brother, Mark spent large parts of his summers at Lake Geneva and has an in-born love for water and boats. He and his wife and their four kids are excited to call northern Door County their home.
